The Nuggets were formed by a group of friends who each had a wealth of experience playing in successful Cambrideshire-based bands. The seeds were sown in January 1997 when Spencer Hart, Scott Bearman-Brown and Karl Brown formed Boba Fett who debuted in Peterborough in December that year. With Karl's reputation as a dynamic frontman typifying their lively shows, the five-piece became one of the most popular covers acts on the scene. The gigs flowed and with just two personnel changes along the way, Boba Fett thrived for five glorious years playing over 400 shows before things came to a natural end.
The demise left the various members at loose ends with each going their own way musically.
After dabbling in various other projects, and longing to recapture their experiences of playing live music together, the guys put their heads together regarding a new band.

A breath of fresh air, The Nuggets would look solely to the sixties for inspiration, taking songs from the most colourful and creative decade in music history. 'Big' Karl M signed up, leaving the band short in one area; a keyboardist, who would be crucial in capturing the 'vibe' of the period - and so the magic of Martin Jewkes
was added.
With a live show culminating into an interactive singing and dancing extravaganza, The Nuggets have captured the hearts of punters across the region, breathing life into those sixties gems.
